Asparagus in Phyllo Dough From: Kelly's Kitchen Category: Side Dish
Why yes I do. It’s AH-MAZING!
1 bunch of asparagus
1 cup of butter
1 package of parmesan cheese
1 package of phyllo dough
1 baking sheet
Marinating brush
Pre-heat oven to 425.
Step 1: Start by dethawing the phyllo dough-this could take a few hours and is the most important step … if you’ve never worked with phyllo dough, get yourself an extra package just in case. It’s kind of hard to get it figured out first time around. As it dethaws, you want to keep it moist. You don’t want it to dry out. Keep the part you’re not working with covered with a wet washrag the whole time you’re working with it.
Step 2: Wash and cut the ends off the asparagus. Put some time of PAM/Olive Oil on you pan-nonsticking the pan.
Step 3: Take 1 piece of phyllo dough and open it all the way up. Place 2-3 stalks of asparagus and lay them on the phyllo dough. Brush the asparagus and dough with butter-quite a bit. Sprinkle parmesan cheese on the inside of the asparagus. Roll it up like a burrito. Make all the rolls you can and place them side by side on the tray.
Step 4: Brush butter over the whole top of the dish. Sprinkle parmesan cheese over the top. Bake until golden brown-mine usually take 10-15 min.ish.
Step 5: Cut into party-sized pieces and serve on platter.
